Japan
December, 2008
As part of a renovation effort to redesign its 19th floor in downtown Tokyo in the financial district, Nova International was brought in to provide a news media outlet known around the world for its financial news reporting to procure, ship and install 96 workstations using Teknion's new Marketplace benching system. Winner of NeoCon's 2007 Best of NeoCon Gold Award, Marketplace offers large uninterrupted spans of workplace using a truss-and-gable system that is simple in concept and implementation. Such a system was perfect for the media newsroom concept of the new 19th floor for this organization.
Nova International managed the shipping, customs clearance, delivery and installation of 96 Marketplace workstations, all equipped with computer holders, dual monitor stands, and stationary storage pedestals. Nova project managers oversaw the containerization of all goods to ensure a safe and undamaged voyage from Canada to Japan. Nova's Japan project manager, Lee Gustafson, received the goods in the port of Tokyo, handled customs clearance for quick processing, and oversaw the local delivery in the financial district of Tokyo.
Every stage offered potential obstacles to cause delay in the project but Nova's experience in large scale international projects helped the team finish on time and under budget.
