November 26, 2003: The 30th Civil Engineering Squadron recently took receipt of four Rapid Deployment Buildings purchased for temporary shelter applications. These buildings have been recommended as go-anywhere prewired shelters for disaster response missions, creating durable, quick-assembly alternative to tents. The ability to be assembled and leveled on unprepared, uneven terrain creates a lot of flexibility for shelter placement. All components can be hand carried into place, allowing for placement and assembly in areas where no other shelter can be considered.
PICTURED: 30th Civil Engineering Readiness Group Flight personnel receive assembly / disassembly training on the first of their four Rapid Deployment Buildings. After the walls are carried inyo place and set-up, the floors and roofs will be slid into place. These buildings were produced in our Desert Sand finish. Other finishes include White and NATO Green.
